Whisky uit Oloroso-sherryvaten
Sherryvaten waarin eerder Oloroso Sherry heeft gerijpt, hebben vaak zeer donkere vruchten en gedroogd fruit als aroma's. Niet zelden komen er pruimen, dadels en rozijnen voor. Daarnaast zijn er vaak aroma's van bruine suiker, chocolade, koffie en pijptabak. Ook drop en kaneel zijn niet ongewoon. Oloroso is een zeer nootachtige sherry, waardoor hij ook graag nootachtige aroma's aan de whisky doorgeeft.
